Bulk Grading and Exemptions for an Individual Student

Target Audience: Teachers (Buzz)

Although most activities require individual review and grading, teachers may occasionally need to grade, excuse, or allow retries in bulk to meet the needs of a specific student. The tools in Buzz allow you to efficiently update multiple assignments for one student directly from the Gradebook.

Accessing the Student View

From the Teacher App home page, select the course-specific Gradebook icon to open the course Gradebook.

Within the Gradebook, choose the student’s name to open their individual grading view.

Entering Scores Using Quick-Edit Grading

If you need to enter or update scores for multiple assignments, select the lightning bolt icon in the top right. This enables Quick-Edit Grading, allowing you to enter scores directly into the grid.

Excusing Assignments or Allowing Retries

To excuse assignments or allow retries in bulk, select the document icon in the upper-right corner to enable Batch-Update Grading.

Then, select the checkboxes next to the assignment titles you want to update.

After selecting the desired assignments, choose either Allow Retry or Excuse to apply the updates.
