German 2 is a new World Language course that reflects best practices identified by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). German 2 aims to further students’ language acquisition and to provide students with necessary skills and intercultural understanding to enable them to communicate successfully in an environment where German is spoken. Vocabulary and grammar structures are revisited and expanded as students explore German-speaking areas. Speaking and listening skills are enhanced through recommended real-life voice activities, while listening skills are honed through online dialogues. Reading and writing skills are developed through access to completion of meaningful activities. Reading of culturally related articles of interest and responding to reading in the target language reinforces authentic language development and fosters cultural understandings through exposure to native speakers and their daily routines.

French 1, French 2, and German 1 Adaptive Credit Recovery are new versions of our existing courses that feature adaptive release functionality.

Note that the Canvas and Schoology version of the above courses, where applicable, are expected to be available on or around July 1st.
