Additional Accessibility Options

Some accessibility needs can be addressed through the curriculum and learning management system (LMS). Depending on a student’s needs and device, additional built-in tools may also help make digital content easier to see, hear, and use.

Magnifiers

Screen magnifiers enlarge the entire screen or a selected area to make content easier to see. Depending on the device, magnification may be full-screen, docked, or shown through a movable lens.

• Chromebook: Use the screen magnifier (full-screen or docked)
• Windows: Use Magnifier (full-screen, docked, or lens)
• Apple: Use the Magnifier

Speech-to-Text

Speech-to-text tools turn spoken words into written text. They may help students who find it difficult to write longer assignments or get their ideas down in writing.

• Chromebook: Use dictation
• Microsoft 365: Dictate text
• Apple: Use Voice Control

Text-to-Speech

The Accelerate lesson player includes a text-to-speech tool. For other digital pages and activities, device or browser tools may be able to read selected text aloud.
